HAPPY 123rd FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY, MY ALMA MATER

For weeks, we practiced tirelessly for the field demonstration dance, celebrating our school’s 123rd founding anniversary. Though exhausting, the preparations were filled with excitement and fun. Every moment was something I genuinely enjoyed.

The celebration officially began with a grand parade from 7:00 to 9:00 AM. The streets were filled with students, teachers, and staff, all marching in perfect synchronization, dressed in colorful outfits that reflected the spirit of the occasion. Despite being known as a lively and sometimes unruly section, we made a conscious effort to present ourselves as the most disciplined group. With heads held high and steps in perfect rhythm, we walked with pride, determined to leave a lasting impression. The energy was contagious, and even under the morning sun, our excitement never wavered.

After the parade, we returned to ISNHS to get ready for our highly anticipated performance. The atmosphere was buzzing with nervous excitement as everyone made their final preparations—fixing costumes, adjusting props, and running through last-minute steps. When our turn finally came, we stepped onto the field, our hearts pounding with anticipation. The music began, and we danced with passion and enthusiasm, putting our all into every movement. Smiling brightly, we performed in front of the crowd and judges, waving the LGBTQ+ flag with pride, showcasing not just our talent but also our unity and inclusivity.

As the performances came to an end, the moment of truth arrived. The winners were announced, and we eagerly awaited the results.

Though we didn’t claim the top spot, it didn’t dampen our spirits. What truly mattered was the joy we experienced, the bonds we strengthened, and the memories we created together. The celebration was about more than just winning—it was about the journey, the teamwork, and the pride of being part of something special.

Our excitement didn’t end there. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as the final awards were announced, and to our surprise and delight, our section, Grade 10 Maxwell, was recognized as the Most Disciplined Section.

It was an unexpected yet incredibly proud moment for all of us. Despite the playful and sometimes chaotic nature of our class, we had proven that when it truly mattered, we could come together and present ourselves with unity and grace. The announcement filled us with pride, and we cheered enthusiastically, celebrating not just the title but the effort we had all put into making the day a success.

Before heading home, we gathered in our classroom for a well-deserved meal. The exhaustion from the long day was forgotten as we sat together, sharing food and laughter. We reminisced about our performances, the funny moments during practice, and the challenges we overcame along the way. Ma’am Remyy joined us, adding to the warmth of the gathering as she shared her thoughts and encouragement. It was a moment of pure joy—one that strengthened our bond as a class.

It wasn’t just about the dances or the competition; it was about the teamwork, the friendships, and the memories we had built together. Sitting in that classroom, surrounded by friends, we realized that moments like these were what truly made our school years special.

A Glimpse Into My World: Joyfull Journey

Holaaa, I'm Alexah Joy, a 15-year-old girl from the charming city of Vigan. I was born on January 3, 2009, and I am the eldest daughter in my family. Being the firstborn has shaped me in many ways, especially in how I relate to my family.                                                               I’m often considered a daddy’s girl, but at the same time, I’m very independent. I’ve learned to balance these two sides of me as I navigate through life. -- Question, how I balance these two? Well, by Communicating more often with my papa, setting a boundary that can help me to maintain my independence while still allowing for a close relationship with my papa, taking responsibility that can also help me to feel more in control and independent, and lastly, I had to practice self-reflection on my feelings and needs. Let's move...
